Unity tutorial 01

Oh the bittersweet taste of Unity after a relaxing break.. This week we are delving right back into the unity tutorials. Unfortunately for me I still struggle completing these tutorials but I am determined to make a conscious effort at them as I know they'll stand to me in all areas of my course.  This semester we are working on 2D games which should be interesting! I love 2D games, especially doodle jump! The first tutorial was all about setting up the software for 2D instead of 3D. As we went on we learned about the main character and making him move.  2D Gaming Unity This tutorial was pretty straight-forward thankfully but I know it is just the beginning. I'm also glad this tutorial didn't include a lot of coding as I still struggle to understand coding.  Lets hope we can keep this momentum going! 

What is a Game?

 This week I read up on what a game really is.  Well, in the first article I read, "What is a Game, Anyway?" , I learned that there is an array of different ways to define what a game really is. There Is no one definition for a game, it's mostly what you want it to be! The article states that although games are what we want them to be, it's important to notice how intricate games actually are, and the "Critical Vocabulary" to learn when planning to create and analyze one.  It was also interesting to learn how all games usually follow the same structure, they include elements such as activities, rules, conflict, goals, decision making, and more.  Gaming Controller In the next article, "The Organic Nature of Game Ideation" , I was informed on all the different ways to draw inspiration from life for a game.  One section I thought was interesting was when the writer explained how most people just drew inspiration from every day things, mostly "rea
